Gloucestershire Care Providers Association

Thank you for visiting our website.

Gloucestershire Care Providers Association is a membership body open to all independent providers of social care (private, not-for-profit and charitable organisations) delivering care to people in their own homes or in a residential setting within Gloucestershire. Our members work with older people, people with learning difficulties and people with disabilities.

Membership of GCPA is a sign of a progressive organisation, committed to delivering the highest standards of care and keen to play an active part in the county’s wider social care community.

    Rating Care Services
GOPA also welcomes the proposal to form “Committees featuring relatives of care users...” “...to scrutinise services that do not meet standards.” GOPA has been advocating something similar for care homes for over twelve months, although we should prefer a more ‘preventive’ approach in which care providers and particularly care homes were encouraged (required?) to have ‘Friends Groups’ of residents, relatives and friends which could both support the care providers, but also monitor standards BEFORE they fall below acceptable standards and come to the attention of the regulators, by which time it may be too late and neglect or abuse may have already occurred.
