In December 2023, the government announced a new policy aiming to reduce immigration to the UK, detailing that people wishing to move to the UK from overseas will need to earn a salary of at least £29,000 p/a. From April, health and social care workers will be exempt from the salary requirement and will still be able to enter the country to work, but will be unable to bring dependants.

In regard to Gloucestershire’s International Recruitment Fund, we can reassure you that health and social care workers will be able to bring their dependants into the country before April 2024.

We aim to complete this project before the policy comes into place. Therefore, the fund will still be available to all providers across Gloucestershire who are recruiting internationally and we encourage you to apply at your earliest convenience
