DHSC Market Sustainability & Improvement Fund: Provider Workforce Capacity & Retention Survey 2024

Letter from Gloucestershire County Council to providers:

Dear Provider,

As a condition of its allocation from the government’s Market Sustainability & Improvement Fund, the council is required to report annually to the DHSC with certain data around fee rates, workforce and waiting times.

In order to enable us to report on the workforce data, we will again be asking all providers to complete a very short online survey to confirm how many staff joined or left their organisation in Gloucestershire during the month of April 2024. We will be circulating a link to the online survey via e-mail at the start of May and you will have two weeks to complete it.

You may recall doing a similar exercise this time last year and we had a fantastic response from providers so many thanks in advance for your help with this again.

National Flu Immunisation Programme 2024 to 2025 – Letter from DHSC

“Flu vaccination remains a critically important public health intervention to reduce morbidity and mortality in those most at risk including older people, pregnant women and those in clinical risk groups. It helps the health and social care system manage winter pressures by helping to reduce demand for GP consultations and likelihood of hospitalisation. Vaccinating health and care workers also plays an important role in helping to prevent transmission of flu, protecting themselves and those they care for.

“This letter sets out guidance for the 2024 to 2025 season and includes the next steps for regions and providers to take, including which flu vaccines to order. The letter confirms that there are no changes to the eligible cohorts for the coming year, although providers should read the section on the timing of the programme carefully.”
