Capacity Tracker – Changes to COVID and Visiting Questions

Statement from Capacity Tracker Team:

“We are always looking at ways to develop Capacity Tracker to ensure it continues to be a useful and effective tool for Adult Social Care data and continues to add meaningful insight for the wider local teams, DHSC and NHSE colleagues.

We are undertaking a survey to understand what, if any, impact the proposed changes to Visiting Questions (Care Home only) & the cessation of collecting Covid Data (both Care Home & Home Care) might have on your service.

We truly value your opinion and feedback and would appreciate if you could spare 10 minutes of your time to complete the Survey before a final decision is made.

The short survey consists of 12 questions and it will remain open until Midday Friday 17th May 2024.

To access the Survey, please click here

Apologies in advance if you are not able to provide feedback we need, and ask if you please could forward on this email and survey link to the appropriate person in your organisation.

Thank you for time and continued support.

If you have any questions or queries about this survey please do not hesitate to get in contact with us via

CQC update for adult social care providers

Our new assessment framework is now live across the country. Thank you for your continued engagement with our changes and for the feedback you’re sharing with us. Feedback is vital to ensure that the approach we’re taking is the right one. My colleague, Ian Trenholm, recently blogged about how we use your feedback to improve our approach and, if you’ve not already read this, I’d encourage you to do so.

I’m very aware of the technical challenges which have impacted the functionality of the provider portal for some providers. Thank you for your patience as we resolve these issues.

By early summer we’ll be sharing our plans around the frequency of assessments – giving you a clearer idea of when you might reasonably expect a visit. Our intention is to review all of the quality statements in a key question where it was previously rated as inadequate or requires improvement. We’re keen to see improvements and enable people to move up to good and outstanding.

James Bullion, Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care and Integrated Care
